Emtech Meets Ag Robotics Teams at FIRA USA 2026 in Yakima
Emtech Engineering attended FIRA USA 2026, Oct. 20 to 22 at State Fair Park in Yakima, meeting agricultural robotics teams working to move systems from field demos into reliable, repeatable deployments.
FIRA USA came to Yakima for its fifth edition and its first outside California. Co-organized by GOFAR and the Yakima County Development Association, the event brought together more than 80 exhibitors and 40 solutions, with in-field demonstrations across orchards, vineyards and vegetable crops covering seeding, mechanical weeding, precision spraying, navigation and fleet management. Growers and farm workers attended free. The focus was on what works on real farms, as growers face labor scarcity, rising production costs and narrower working windows.
From field demo to fleet deployment
What happens between a robot demo and a production deployment? Field builds, commissioning, controls tuning, retrofit work and reliability testing, repeated at every site. That middle stage is where Emtech works.
Agricultural robotics companies scale from pilot to fleet by making each deployment repeatable. Emtech supports that with embedded engineering teams, from field technicians through senior engineers, who join a client's team without adding full-time headcount. Emtech teams handle:
- Assembly, testing and multisite deployment
- Controls integration, including CoDesys, EtherCAT, UDP, PLC and HMI
- Retrofit and prototyping of existing equipment
- Root cause and reliability work
For ag robotics makers looking for engineering support in Washington and the Pacific Northwest, Emtech is based in Centralia, Wash., and serves customers across all 50 states and the EU.
RoboBusiness 2026 the same week
The same week, Emtech also attended RoboBusiness 2026, Oct. 20 to 21 in Santa Clara, Calif. Teams who met Emtech at either show, or missed the chance, can continue the conversation through the contact form at emtechengineering.com/contact.
